In 2010, it was renovated as Yokohama’s first all-day buffet with a performance kitchen where you can enjoy Japanese, Western, and Chinese menus all at once, and in 2018, to commemorate its 20th anniversary, we added a new hors d’oeuvre corner and expanded the dessert corner. Now, the Compass is undergoing its third renewal. With a new look, we welcome guests with a nostalgic yet sophisticated interior reminiscent of a Western-style building in Yamate, with Yokohama navy blue accents that blend in with the beautiful scenery of Yokohama and the hotel lobby. The buffet area in front of you from the entrance features freshly baked hotel-made bread, fresh vegetable salads, hors d’oeuvres, and colorful desserts. The live kitchen has also been completely renovated, where chefs serve roast beef and noodles that are prepared right in front of their eyes while valuing dialogue with customers. We will deliver the deliciousness by using the ordered buffet where the staff will carefully deliver the food to your seat and the exciting real buffet where the customers can choose freely depending on the food content. The “Hokkaido Fair – A collection of past hit menus” will be held as the first event befitting the reopening, and the menus that were popular at the “Hokkaido Fair” from 2021 to 2024 will be gathered together. Compass chefs travel to various parts of Hokkaido for each fair, and you can enjoy dishes made with generous amounts of carefully selected ingredients. At the reborn all-day dining “Compass,” we will provide you with a time that satisfies both your heart and stomach in a lively atmosphere where you can experience the joy of food while exploring “delicious food” from around the world. [The compass located above the atrium lobby is a space inspired by “Yokohama Yamate”] The all-day dining “Compass” was designed based on the concept of a Western-style building in “Yokohama Yamate”, which is located on a hill overlooking the port town of Yokohama, and has been reborn as a space that evokes the beautiful scenery of Yokohama, harmonizing with the lobby area that resembles the sea and port of Yokohama. We have created a variety of new zones, including bench seats for couples and couples to enjoy special moments together, table seats for three generations of family and friends to enjoy together, and a spacious space perfect for group gatherings of 30 to 60 people. In a comfortable space where soothing greenery is placed near the windows and natural light shines in, you can enjoy the hotel’s signature cuisine prepared with care by our chefs in a spacious dining space. The total number of seats is 160, and we have a flexible layout that can accommodate a variety of occasions. Image

In order to reduce food waste, we have also introduced “Ya Cycle” and also use eco-friendly vegetables grown in Kanagawa Prefecture using composted food resources within the hotel. In addition to seared and pickled Misaki tuna, and rice balls made with Harumi rice harvested in rice fields in Yokohama with a variety of ingredients from Kanagawa, new recommended dishes unique to Kanagawa will be introduced daily, such as beef hot pot, which originated in Yokohama, Yokohama family ramen, and tonzuke, a local dish from Atsugi City.
