At the age of 18, he followed in his father’s footsteps and became a fisherman. At the age of 41, he studied under Namie Nakatsuji and began oil painting. In the early stages, the motifs were fishing port scenes and fishermen. During the coronavirus pandemic, he draws Jizo statues and Ofudo statues to pray for the end of the pandemic, but currently he mainly uses fish as motifs.
