Terrace Midouhara’s 10th Anniversary—The Strength to Persist Despite Difficulties In 2025, Terrace Midouhara celebrated its 10th anniversary since its opening. Looking back, opening in the unknown town of Hotta was by no means an easy road. Due to a series of issues with the water infrastructure and construction, the facility was only completed the day before the opening. Furthermore, we faced numerous challenges, including the cancellation of all reservations due to the impact of the Kumamoto earthquake. But even so, we have continued to move forward step by step, driven by our desire to “brighten the world and people through travel.” Before we knew it, the organization’s appearance had changed dramatically, and the scope of our business has expanded, including the full-scale recruitment of new graduates. Since 2011, they have been based in Taketa City, Oita Prefecture, and are active in the field of art, focusing on the theme of “creation and life.” In order to fill the gaps in our ever-changing times, he continues to create works that transcend conventional methods of expression, and his representative works include “Wood Figure” and “Path to the Landscape.” In 2019, he launched the art project “Olectronica Art Center” at the site of a former nursery school in Arita Town, and is also working on
expressions in places close to people’s lives, such as local communities and on the streets.
