(Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Etsumitsu Koyano) is working on the Great Barrier Reef coral restoration SDGs, a collaboration between Tourism Australia, Tourism Queensland, and Japan Travel Agents Association. We will be releasing an overseas tour in conjunction with the program, “A 6-day trip to Cairns, creating the future of Australian coral.” The JATA Outbound Promotion Council of the Japan Travel Industry (JATA), in
collaboration with Tourism Australia and Tourism Queensland, has announced an SDGs program to tackle coral restoration on the Great Barrier Reef. On this tour, as the main event of this SDGs program, we will participate in the Great Barrier Reef Coral Restoration Project, which will be held in Cairns, Australia, on March 5, 2025, “Coral Day.” On the day of the program, we reserved a pontoon (artificial floating island) called “Reef Magic” on the coral reef zone of the outer reef off the coast of Cairns, and with guidance in Japanese from an oceanographic expert, we worked to preserve the beautiful coral reef for future generations. In addition to simply feeling the beauty of the ocean, you will learn about the current state of the Great Barrier Reef and learn and experience what can be done to preserve coral. Tour points
