Press release: March 24, 2025 Kurobe Gorge Railway starts commercial operation from April 20th (Sunday) in 2025! Kurobe Gorge Railway Co., Ltd. (location: Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Toshishige Suzuki) will begin commercial operation in 2025 (some sections) from Sunday, April 20th. Continuing from last year, in 2025, there will be a return service between Unazuki Station and Nekomata Station. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding as we work towards recovery,
prioritizing safety and security. Nekomata Station is a station reserved for construction workers, which the general public cannot normally get off at, but this year you can get off for a limited time. It is also said to be the only station in Japan with the word “cat” on it, so please enjoy it for a limited time and only in Japan. We will begin accepting reservations for individual customers (less than 15 people) from April 1st (Tuesday).
