The exhibition features gentle yet vivid words left behind by Nankichi, who died at the young age of 29. This exhibition will reexamine his fresh sensibility together with young creators from the Tokai area. This exhibition will open on July 30th, which is Niimi Nankichi’s birthday. At the venue, you can see the Japanese sweets that Nankichi, who loved sweets, ate, photos of Handa from the time he lived, as well as hands-on workshops that families can enjoy and the “Nazotoki NANKICHI “THE WORD”” event in conjunction with the Niimi Nankichi Memorial Museum. There will also be a special menu at the cafe on the premises. Experience Nankichi’s words and hometown with all your senses.

The surrounding area is dotted with places related to his work, such as Sumiyoshi Shrine, Daido, and Miyaike Pond, so you can experience the world of Nankichi while walking around the town. An experiential exhibition that combines “classic fairy tales and local creators”. Summer vacation only! There are 16 types of workshops, an exhibition of Nankichi’s handwritten manuscripts, and a “town tour” of the Chita Peninsula while trying your hand at solving puzzles, so there is plenty of material for research.
