Gunze Co., Ltd. Press release: March 12, 2025 Gunze Museum’s annual visitor numbers exceed 50,000 for the first time! Many customers come to the garden for unique events planned throughout the year Gunze Museum, located in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, where Gunze Co., Ltd. was founded, has exceeded 50,000 visitors annually for the first time since its opening in 1996. To commemorate this occasion, we presented a souvenir to the 50,000th visitor to the park.

This is also due to the support and cooperation from everyone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I became the museum director in March last year, and my main focus was on building Gunze fans. We were conscious of planting seeds for future generations, and we especially worked to create fans among children. From my own experience, I believe that childhood memories remain vivid. We would like to convey the philosophy and fun of Gunze to the children who visit the museum. We have strengthened events such as Halloween, Christmas, Doll’s Festival, and Showa Retro Exhibition throughout the year because we want people to understand Gunze through familiar events. If your visit to Gunze Museum is an opportunity for you to want to work at Gunze in the future, then I think that alone will be worth it. The Gunze Museum and Gunze Memorial Hall are based on “respect for humanity,” “production of quality products,” and “coexistence and mutual prosperity.” The contents are amazing. I would like to continue to use my knowledge to make this information known to as many people as possible, both inside and outside the company. ■About Gunze Museum Gunze Museum was established in 1996, when Gunze celebrated its 100th anniversary, and with the birth of Ayabe Gunze Square. After undergoing several renovations, in 2016, on the occasion of Gunze’s 120th anniversary, the exhibits were reorganized into the current founding warehouse, modern warehouse, and future warehouse. Each exhibition building is a renovated warehouse from the Taisho era that used to store cocoons when Gunze was mainly involved in the silk reeling industry.
