From Sunday, March 29, 2026 to Thursday, October 22, 2026, the airline will operate five weekly flights to Alta via Kittila, Finland. The flight will be operated by a 68-seat ATR aircraft. Alta is known for its magnificent Arctic nature, a variety of outdoor activities, and a spot for viewing the Northern Lights, and is also attracting attention as a port of call for cruise ships. In the summer of 2026, the airline will also fly five times a week from Helsinki to Tromsø, a coastal city in northern Norway, via Rovaniemi. Until now, Finnair had operated ATR flights to these destinations only in the winter, but in order to meet the growing demand for summer travel to Northern Europe, Finnair has decided to strengthen its network. In addition, the number of flights between Ivalo in northern Finland and Kirkenes in northeastern Norway will be increased from the current three times a week to five times a week. “These destinations in Northern Europe are increasingly attracting travelers who want to experience dynamic nature in the summer. Finnair’s network from Lapland to northern Norway offers our customers convenient flights that allow them to explore multiple Nordic regions in one trip, and can even be combined with a cruise trip along the Norwegian coast,” said Perttu Jolma, Vice President Network, Finnair. In summer 2026, Finnair will also increase its flights to the capitals of the Nordic countries. Stockholm and Copenhagen will have seven additional weekly flights, while Reykjavik will have two weekly flights. From June to early August, during the peak summer season, Finnair flies to Billund in Denmark, Visby in Sweden, Bodø in Norway* and also flies twice a week to Mariehamn in the Åland Islands.
