This event is a mystery-solving project in which participants explore the bookstores and cafes of Jimbocho from the perspective of Sherlock Holmes and Watson to find the first edition of the rare and hidden book “A Study in Scarlet.” The starting point is BOOK HOTEL Jimbocho. The story progresses using clues from bookstores and signboards unique to Jimbocho. It is a mechanism that offers new discoveries not only for mystery fans but also for book lovers.

One booklet will be given to you at the starting point. You cannot get the next booklet unless you solve the mystery written in the booklet. There are 5 booklets in total. Please aim to complete it. This time’s mystery solving incorporates tricks and foreshadowing similar to those found in mystery novels, creating an authentic mystery experience that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to experts. It also has a rich hint function, so even those who haven’t read the Sherlock Holmes series or are beginners in solving puzzles can feel at ease. STORY Holmes and Watson receive a request from a certain woman, Sakura Furuta, to find the first edition of the rare book “A Study in Scarlet.” For research, I stayed at BOOK HOTEL Jimbocho and visited the bookstores in Jimbocho. However, all that can be found are replicas. Why isn’t the real thing coming out? What is the secret hidden in rare books? And what is the true identity of the client “Furuta Sakura”?
