Taking advantage of our special location at the foot of the ancient keyhole-shaped tumulus, Nishiyamazuka Tumulus, we offer a one-of-a-kind accommodation experience themed around the ancient philosophy of “Yin-Yang, the Five Elements” and “Five Senses.” In this place where nature and history are in harmony, we offer a new form of stay that connects the past and the future. Approximately 100 volunteers from all over the country worked with the local community to carry out the renovation. Through crowdfunding, four accommodation buildings and one dining building were created with the theme of the Yin-Yang five elements of “Thursday, Tuesday, Saturday, Friday, and Wednesday.” The design allows visitors to experience Nara’s history and culture through their five senses.

It is also deeply rooted. Kogane (Golden Wing): The brass silhouette floating in the night sky is impressive. For those who want to calm their mind in silence. Water Building: A loft and tree house room that will bring you back to your childhood and awaken your sense of adventure. Tsuchi (earth ridge): Unique design inspired by a cave. The bedroom on the second floor overlooks the burial mound. Ki (wooden ridge) : A warm space that makes use of old materials. You can relax with family and friends. Hi (Fire Building): A dining building featuring a kitchen counter modeled after the okudo-san that was previously used.

It is said to be the tomb of Princess Tehiraka, the 26th Empress of Emperor Keitai, and the burial mound offers a spectacular view of the Yamato Sanzan. Image

A portion of the accommodation fee will be used for conservation activities and landscape maintenance of the Nishiyamazuka Tumulus. We plan to offer handicraft experiences that make use of plants and ancient tools from ancient tombs, as well as experiential programs that allow you to experience local nature and culture. We worked on the renovation together with the local community and around 80 members from all over the country. While respecting the way ancient tombs have long coexisted with the local community as orchards, we are exploring new forms of coexistence in modern times.
