Monogatari”, a wedding photo plan in an elegant space where you can feel the breath of Morioka’s history ～Happiness created in a mansion surrounded by beautiful time～ Hotel Metropolitan Morioka (Main Building: Address: Morioka Ekimae-dori, Morioka City; NEW WING: Address: Morioka Ekimae Kitadori, Morioka City; General Manager: Takashi Sato) will begin selling the “Tokukiyo Monogatari” location wedding photo plan at the “Tokukiyo Residence,” which is designated as a Morioka City Landscape Important Building. Tokusei is a mansion that is said to have once been used as Morioka Castle’s accounting magistrate’s office, a room that may have been used as the palace residence of the Nambu family, and beautiful historical furniture that has been carefully preserved, making it a mansion that still retains its stately character even after about 130 years. This is a special plan where you can take a special photo that will remain as a memory for a lifetime in a valuable building that is closed to the public.

With the abandonment of Morioka Castle in 1897, some buildings were sold, and in 1891, the main building, which is now the Sato Family Residence, was built by the 9th generation Mr. Seiemon Sato. This mansion, which has one room that may have been used as the Nambu family’s palace parlor, is characterized by its elegant and solid earthen walls (painted with white plaster) and tiled roof, and now that it has been relocated, it has been designated as a Morioka City Landscape Important Building. The Sato family, which owns Tokusei, founded a tatami shop in the Kanbun era (1660s), and after working in the brewing industry and rice merchant, became a merchant of the Nanbu domain, and in the Meiji period supported the local economy and financial world through banking, cargo shipping, and other businesses. After the war, this famous family expanded its business base to include warehousing, forestry, and real estate rental, and continued to contribute to the development of Morioka while responding to changes in society. The Sato family has been using it as their actual home since the Meiji era, and the mansion still has beautiful furniture such as a horizontal plaque said to belong to Kaishu Katsu and a reproduction of Nitobe Inazo’s calligraphy, as well as a hand-wound wall clock, chairs, and tables that give you a sense of the times.
