In addition to participating in the annual Onidaiko festival “Sado Kuni Onidaiko Dotcom,” this tour is a one-night, two-day tour with a tour guide that departs from Niigata Port and visits the historic sites Sado Gold Mine and Kitazawa Flotation Plant, which were registered as World Cultural Heritage sites last year. It is a Sado traditional performing arts event that is held every year at Ondeko Dome, located about a 6-minute walk from Ryotsu Port, and attracts about 10,000 people each year, with free entry and exit. Over the course of two days, you can enjoy stage performances such as Ondaiko, Sado Okesa, Daikoku Mai, and Aikawa Ondo, as well as stalls selling food, drinks, and snacks, as well as workshops such as taiko drumming experiences. For this tour, participants will be able to participate from around 12:00 on the second day, May 25th (Sunday), and those who wish will be provided with a shuttle service to the eve festival on the night of the previous day, May 24th (Saturday). What is “Onidaiko” It is one of Sado’s traditional performing arts for the purpose of praying for a rich harvest and warding off evil spirits. During the spring festival held in more than 100 villages across the island, local Onidaiko performs a “kadozuke” dance in which they dance around each house in the village. The dance styles are broadly divided into five types: “Mamemaki-ryu”, “Issoku-ryu”,
