(Headquarters: Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Daiji Tamakura), a wholly owned subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., announced the “Zero Waste Park” concept at the “1st Pieclex Conference” (@Jiji Press Hall) held on February 12, 2025. This concept aims to realize a sustainable theme park where nature and resources circulate by utilizing the circulation infrastructure “P-FACTS” led by Pieclex. We will establish a recycling system that does not produce waste and makes maximum use of resources, and will create a theme park model for the next generation that minimizes the environmental impact.

participants gathered at the “1st Pieclex Conference” venue, including those involved in the environment and textile industries, the press, and companies and organizations interested in sustainable management. We had a presentation and discussion about the “Zero Waste Park” concept using P-FACTS technology with Adventure World Sustainable Smile Ambassador Yorifumi Hirahara and Pieclex Co., Ltd. President and CEO Daiji Tamakura. You can view the archived video here: https://img.youtube.com/vi/ZiJL5nUuCKw/sddefault.jpg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiJL5nUuCKw ■Overview of the “Zero Waste Park” concept using P-FACTS This project will build a complete recycling system for clothing, centered on the following three pillars. 1. Waste composting and resource recycling – Collect waste generated within the park (animal excrement, leftover food from restaurants, etc.) and jointly develop the P-FACTS circulation system using Adventure World’s existing composting system. We provide compost to farms both inside and outside the park to support agricultural production. ・Establish a circular food system by providing
agricultural products with less environmental impact at restaurants within the park. 2. Development and utilization of sustainable textile products ・Developed original goods, event goods, and staff costumes using Pieclex fiber. ・Sold at shops in the park and online, allowing guests to participate in the circulation-type park system. 3. Guest participation collection and recycling system We have set up collection boxes at the park and throughout the country to collect products made from Pieclex fibers that have been used by guests. Through this project, Pieclex and Adventure World will explore ways to create a sustainable theme park with less environmental impact and create new value. We will continue to make announcements regarding future developments. Please continue to pay attention. ■ Launch of sustainable collaboration goods As the first step toward realizing a “Zero Waste Park,” we will be rolling out goods with animal motifs, including giant pandas. These products use P-FACTS compatible Pieclex fiber material to promote resource recycling-oriented manufacturing.

■About “P-FACTS” “P-FACTS” (PIECLEX FAbrics Composting Technology Solution) is a recycling infrastructure that collects apparel and textile products using PIECLEX, a plant-based polylactic acid material “electrical fiber” and composts it. Operation has already begun in collaboration with many partner companies, local governments, welfare facilities, school corporations, and other stakeholders. This recycling infrastructure is based on the idea of “local
consumption, local circulation,” in which locally used products are reused locally, and aims to create a sustainable fashion society in which consumers can easily participate. Products that are compatible with “P-FACTS” are given the P-FACTS certification mark (*1), which guarantees that they “compost and grow new plants,” providing an environmentally friendly option.

Manufacturing’s piezoelectric technology “Denki” and Teijin Frontier’s synthetic fiber technology “Seni”. When the fibers move due to human movement, they generate a weak amount of electricity, which exerts an antibacterial effect (*2). Furthermore, Pieclex is made from polylactic acid, a bioplastic derived from plants such as corn and sugarcane, and is biodegradable (*3) as it can be broken down by microorganisms. In addition, recycling is possible in an
environment-friendly manner through collection using the recycling infrastructure “P-FACTS” that we have prepared. This allows you to both experience technology and contribute to the environment just by wearing it. *2. Antibacterial effect is the effect of suppressing the growth of bacteria. Effects vary depending on usage conditions. *3. Biodegradability refers to the property of decomposing into water and CO2 under certain conditions. Conforms to the international standard ISO 14855-1 (JIS K 6953-1) ■About Pieclex Co., Ltd. Pieclex HP: https://pieclex.com/ As a wholly owned subsidiary of Murata
Manufacturing Co., Ltd., which contributes to the world through innovation, Pieclex Co., Ltd. has a corporate vision of “Changing the world with electric fibers” and promotes innovation through the electric fiber “Pieclex”. Our company was established through joint investment by Murata Manufacturing and Teijin Frontier, and has developed a new material called Pieclex, which combines the strengths of both companies. Pieclex is both innovative and environmentally friendly, and can be applied to a wide range of applications, including apparel, healthcare, consumer goods, and industrial fields. Currently, Pieclex is working with many textile-related companies to implement the recycling infrastructure “P-FACTS” in order to realize a sustainable society. We will continue to create new value and contribute to society in order to realize a future that is kind to the earth and people by simply wearing and using P-FACTS certified products.
