In February of this year, we began an initiative to utilize the facility as a place to create encounters with traveling customers. Since then, it has been enjoyed not only by guests but also by the general public as a place to experience the sensibilities and works of up-and-coming artists. Naohiko Ito, the fifth artist, graduated from the Department of Design at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2001, worked at a production company, and became independent in 2006. While attending Tokyo University of the Arts, he was selected for various awards, and after graduating, he held a solo exhibition in Ginza, and currently focuses on magazine cover production and editorial design. The works on display this time are impressive, based on black and white, and have a somewhat nostalgic feel, such as “HOTOKE” (2024), “UENO” (2024), “Indoor” (2024), and “Rural” (2024). It is a place where you can enjoy the atmosphere of Japan. All four works were created specifically for this exhibition. The work “UENO” depicts a building reminiscent of “Hotel Resol Ueno” with the “R” logo of our hotel “Resol,” as well as shrines and temples that symbolize Ueno, including historical buildings. It expresses the city of Ueno, where new cultures coexist. “Resol Hotels” will continue to weave irreplaceable travel “stories” through hotel operations that thoroughly meet the needs of all travelers.
