Kyoto University of Foreign Studies Press release: July 29, 2025 To Members of the Press A collaborative project between Kyoto City and “Michibata KYOTO,” a student group from the Department of Global Tourism at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies! “Kyoto Sightseeing for Everyone” video now available ~Contributing to society through learning and promoting universal tourism~ The Michibata KYOTO Universal Tourism Promotion Team, a student group from the Department of Global Tourism, Faculty of International Contribution, Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (President: Takahiro Ono), and the Kyoto City Industry and Tourism Bureau’s Tourism, MICE, and Tourism Promotion Office are jointly developing the Kyoto City Universal Tourism Promotion Project, with the aim of creating an environment where everyone, with or without disabilities, can enjoy sightseeing in Kyoto. We have produced a video titled “Kyoto Sightseeing for Everyone,” which will begin distribution on July 7, 2025. This project provided a valuable opportunity for students from the Department of Global Tourism at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies to put their learnings into practice and contribute to solving issues in the local community. 【Video Summary】 The video being released this time introduces tourist spots in Kyoto City that are enjoyable for everyone, as well as barrier-free initiatives at inns. Michibata KYOTO students are responsible for everything from setting the theme to planning and composing the videos, shooting, and editing, and are promoting the charms of Kyoto from a student perspective. They have four goals:
“diversifying tourists,” “attracting responsible travelers,” “promoting student strolls around Kyoto,” and “promoting universal tourism in Kyoto.” They engage in a wide range of activities, including sharing stories of Kyoto they discover on the roadside in free papers and other publications.
