Around that time, a 100-year-old traditional house that had once been used as a guesthouse was being sold by the owner’s family. By coincidence, the timing was right, and I took over the place and began the challenge of reviving it as a guesthouse again.

The renovation focused on making the most of the building’s history, and while adding new things, the structure deliberately showed off traditional building materials such as beams and logs. In particular, the beams are made of wood that is over 200 years old, giving the space a deep charm. For meals, we use local vegetables and seafood as much as possible, and serve “simple, warm island meals like those served at home” for breakfast and dinner.
