As part of this initiative, in April 2024, “EXPO Sakaba Main Store (Kita Main Store/Minami Main Store)” will open at the B2F of LUCUA Osaka and the B2F of Shinsaibashi PARCO, which are directly connected to JR Osaka Station. It will be developed as a night place where people from Japan and abroad visiting Osaka, staff working at pavilions from each country, and local people can interact, and weekly events are also held in collaboration with government agencies and pavilions from various countries that are visiting Osaka for the World Expo. In addition, we will hold a regular exchange event called “EXPO kanpai night” where overseas staff can participate with confidence, creating an opportunity for relaxed dialogue and encounters that transcends nationality and occupation. Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that international exchange and cultural experiences will become a part of everyday life in Osaka as a soft legacy after the Expo. ◼️Activity highlights (April-June 2025) [The last two months in numbers] • EXPO Bar Bases: 2 Bases (Lucua Osaka B2F / Shinsaibashi PARCO B2F) • Number of overseas co-sponsored events: 5 times • EXPO kanpai night Cumulative number of participants: Approximately 810 people • EXPO kanpai night participating
countries/regions average: 47 (average of the past four events) • Number of media appearances: 30 (see below for list of appearances) ■Achievements EXPO Sakaba Main Store opens simultaneously in Kita and Minami! In April 2025, with the cooperation of the large-scale commercial complexes LUCUA Osaka and PARCO Shinsaibashi, “EXPO Sakaba Kita Main Store (LUCUA Osaka B2F)” and “EXPO Sakaba Minami Main Store (Shinsaibashi PARCO B2F)” were opened simultaneously. It is a “communication pavilion” in the town where people from all over the world gather and talk with the Expo as the subject.

Kita and Minami, which opened in April 2025, will be open in Osaka, the host city of the Expo, during the Expo period as the main EXPO Sakaba store. At the EXPO bar, an international event will be held where countries participating in the Expo will expand from Yumeshima to the city. In the wake of the Expo, we plan and hold events on a weekly basis to convey the charms of lesser known countries and regions through their culture and lifestyles. Unlike trade fairs that focus on sales, we place emphasis on multifaceted experiences, including people, talks, music, and art. ◼️Kyrgyz Republic|”Kyrgyzstan, Skisgil” The Kyrgyz Republic, located in Central Asia, is geographically close to Japan, but is still one of the lesser known countries. The cultural exchange event, co-hosted by the Kyrgyz Republic Pavilion, which will participate in the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, and JR West Japan SC Development Co., Ltd., worked with the Kyrgyz government, government agencies, and trading companies that handle local products to promote the country, traditional culture, private exchange, and product sales in a well-balanced manner. #Food #Culture #Tradition #Exhibition

Africa may seem like a distant place, but in fact many of the coffee, chocolate, and gin that are popular in Japan are found there. In addition to selling rare gin, chocolate, and coffee from Uganda, this fair also featured African drum performances. The entire venue was decorated with colorful African batik textiles, making it a rare opportunity to enjoy with all five senses. #food #culture #music #exhibition

A maypole just like the real thing was set up in the center of the venue, and in addition to the greenery, visitors gathered with a white dress code, creating a Nordic festive space in Umeda. #Culture #Tradition #Party

More than 80% of the 196 countries in the world will be living in Osaka during the Expo, which is a very rare scale even for Osaka. For such foreign staff, we regularly hold a night event called “EXPO kanpai night” where they can participate in a safe and comfortable atmosphere after work. We aim to create a place where people of all nationalities and occupations can interact and relax. Beverages are provided with the cooperation of Suntory Holdings. ◼️Implementation results 1st | May 13th (Tue) 19:00~ @ EXPO Sake Bar Kita main store Number of participants: approximately 220 people / Number of participating countries/regions: 52 2nd | May 30th (Friday) 19:00 ~ @EXPO Bar Minami Main Store Number of participants: approximately 310 / Number of participating countries/regions: 65 3rd | June 12th (Thu) 19:00~ @ Kita and Minami main stores held

The people who gather from around 50 countries and regions every time interact with each other with a drink in hand, just like an overseas club scene. Although they have the commonality of working at the Yumeshima venue, staff from countries and regions that do not usually have contact with each other naturally talk to each other beyond language and culture, and unexpected encounters and smiles are born one after another. Even when the event ends at 10pm or 11pm, participants can be seen everywhere, reluctant to leave the venue. At the end of the event, the DJ plays “Dancing Queen” at full volume, and the night is closed with a dance that truly symbolizes the diversity and excitement of the Expo. demo!expo does not intend to make a profit from this EXPO kanpai night, but rather to position it as a place of “hospitality” for the overseas staff who live in Osaka for a certain period of time, and will continue to deliver international and fun nights that respect their challenges and daily work.

In the spring of 2025, they collaborated with the Setouchi Triennale and KYOTOGRAPHIE, and held a total of five talk events over four days at EXPO Sakaba Kita Main Branch, featuring poster
exhibitions and signage, as well as talk events featuring key figures from each art festival and the editor-in-chief of art media Bijutsu Techo Web Edition. The opportunity to showcase such a large collection of contemporary art in Osaka was a huge success. An autumn event is planned for September.

The project “OSAKA YORUMON” was launched in April 2024 with the aim of utilizing this charm to create a night economy. It provides an opportunity to experience the city and culture of Osaka through encounters and interactions with “interesting people = YORUMON” who are active in Osaka at night. The web app “Osaka Yorumon Illustrated Guide” introduces such YORUMON. The “Yorumon Guide”, who knows Osaka inside and out, guides you through the night city starting from “people” and conveys its deep charm.
