(Yamada Kurumazuka-cho, Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto City, CEO: Hirotaka Iwata) to offer a “Stay Plan with Kyoto Craft Experience” (from 42,000 yen per room for two people *Including breakfast, tax, service charge, and accommodation tax) that includes a selectable craft experience and accommodation. Reservations will begin on Friday, May 16th, and the plan will be on sale from Friday, May 23rd to Friday, December 19th.

It is a place where you can enjoy a “creation experience” established by a team of craftsmen and companies involved in traditional industries, utilizing Iwata’s knowledge and techniques, as well as carefully selected materials. In this accommodation plan, artisans and experienced staff will provide careful support in traditional crafts that represent Kyoto, such as Nishijin-ori, Kitayama cedar, yoraku (traditional Japanese lanterns), tatami mats, and incense, so even beginners can easily try out the crafts. You can take home the finished product as a memento of your trip. You can also make a special “Shrine stamp book” with a cover of your choice from the beautiful and colorful “Nishijin-ori” fabric, make your own “Chopsticks” using a plane to carve “Kitayama cedar,” a famous wood from Kyoto known for its beautiful grain, or make a “Mini tatami” using the same process as making real tatami mats by sewing a strip of cloth with a traditional pattern woven into it, called tatami-beri, onto a natural tatami mat surface made from woven rush grass.
